I’ll bite.
I’m always up for knowing more about what I don’t know (which is an extremely large field).

Count me in. What’s the scoop?

Hi Coco, I just got back from a nice long vacation, and I’m sad to see that you’ve shut down the links. I’m sure my productivity at work will go up, but I’ll miss your blog. I used to run a couple of websites, and let them go several years ago. Most visitors were great, but the abusers were quite frustrating– I really didn’t have the time or patience to put up with it, so I can completely understand your frustrations.
I would, of course, love to see more links from your site, perhaps just a few choice links once in a while…
Thanks anyway for running your blog for the period that it was up, it was a fun read every morning.

Hi Coco:
I was quite upset by the fact that someone motivated you to shut down the Coco News website. I did not have an opportunity to view the negative comments directed at you. I thought it was an excellent news and information source. As more of a lurker, I did not comment often to express my gratitude. I do suspect the dangers of the internet and no, I hope I am not too trusting. Tell me more Coco!!!

Do tell, I’m listening.
I’m happy to see you are back.

The truth is complicated and consists of a multitude of reasons.
You probably will not look at the internet, blogging, etc. the same way again.

I for one would be very interested in finding out…. Your RE news links were always a good read in the morning.

Hope you’ll be back (hope springs…)

I am very interested also….I have already posted a conspiracy theory comment on RE talks….I do not see how all these folks that have made a ton of money in the RE runup in Van (well, and eslewhere), are going to let is “whiney bears” talk up a storm and dissect the deteriorating RE market statistics without trying to run some interference. They have been manipulating the public for a very long time and made a lot of money doing it — and I suspect that the 15 myths article in the Van Sun was a piece of that strategy….like I said, I do have a consipracy theory view of part of what will happen next in RE! Many many people will not want to see even a 10% downward correction, never mind 30-40%….veyr very scary stuff if there is any truth to it…which makes all blog hosters and commentaters….targets to some degree (unless they were bulls of course)….if I was Rennie, at a minimum I would have interns, etc on all of these blogs talking up the bull story line, to balance out us bears…..kinda like that “Kathy” person who was a raging bull in the 15 Myths comments section…..
Anyways, hope you are well Coco, thanks for all you do!

Sorry to see your blog go, I’ve got some ideas for you if you are planning on restarting it down the road.

I received a message in the background that I deleted suggesting we talk about this on another blog. There is actually two topics in one sentence here. False perceptions of safety and traffic drivers. I will talk about these later.
Plus, how copycats sites can be putting themselves or you in danger.
coconews - May 5, 2008 at 9:43 am
Well I’m definitely interested. I’d like to hear more on what happened and am glad to see you’re still here.. I’m not sure why you would discuss this on another blog when you have many curious readers here.
The Pope - May 5, 2008 at 10:27 am
Interested.
as for negative comments, the only bad thing I can say about Coco’s blog is that my work productivity goes down when I grab my 9 am coffee and see what’s rattling the world’s economy
VanTOVan - May 5, 2008 at 10:28 am
interested!

Coco,
Very interested!!!!
You have the best blog in Vancouver. It is sad to see you shut it down. You provide excellent information. I really miss your blog. As for negative comments, disregard them. There are always going to be losers. Some people will always have bad things to say.

Boy, Coco knows a thing or two about stoking curiosity, doesn’t she! Noting that curiosity killed the cat, there is a cat theme and references going on, I had a dream about cats, apropos of nothing Toxoplasmo Gondii
( http://tinyurl.com/4xkql9 ) popped into conversation TWICE lately, I am VERY interested.
Cat’s also have nine lives, do we have to endure eight more days of suspense?
Some amusement while we wait, breath bated. http://pegasus.rutgers.edu/~selph/kittyporn.html

Curious as to why you would shut down such a fantastic site
kicker - May 5, 2008 at 8:31 pm
You…wait….I build…new blog underneath this one.
I have learned things that may make your jaw drop or your eyes bulge a bit.
Here is a sneak preview of a few topics I will cover although there is many, many, more…..
Why you don’t want to have a news blog or report a lot of news.
Why you may have a disadvantage when buying a home.
Hidden dangers in cyberspace
Why a popular blog, may really not be that popular.
Secrets of retail stores
Why you should never start up a copycat blog or copycat website when someone shuts theirs down. And…why you may not want to chat on a copycat site either.
Are you working for free and don’t know it? I know what you are thinking…Huh? What?…. I used to think the same way too. Not any more….
Media…how honest are they?
Stay tuned….

Hi Coco:
It is unfortunate to see you shut your site shut down, for what ever reason. The research you must do to offer such informative articles must be exhaustive and one would hope you feel that all is not done in vain. I sincerely believe there are many viewers, myself included, who found your site as probably the best damn site to come upon.
Hope to see you back…….soon!
Doug
